I use tubing from Dedacciai, Columbus and True Temper along with beautiful lugs, fork crowns and bottom bracket shells from Long Shen, Pacenti, and Henry James. Using traditional methods and building each frame one at a time by hand in my small north Portland shop with silver, brass and lots of love, I ensure the quality and craftsmanship is among the finest in the world. Over the past 7 years the prices of tubing, silver and brazing gas has gone up considerably resulting in an increase of my cost and pricing. 80% of the frames and forks I build are built with lugs which I feel provides the best ride quality along with the most durable construction while 20% are fillet brazed using brass. Every bike I build is constructed with the finest butted tubing and designed to be the best possible machine for the intended use. I stand behind everything I make and want to make happy cyclists out of everyone who rides an Ira Ryan bicycle.

Paint

I use the best powder coating and liquid paint from Coat Paintshop to get a finish that will be durable and beautiful. The finish is the final touch for your custom frame and I consider it to be more than just a protectant finish. It can make your bike shine. A single color powder coat is the basic standard for every frame and included in the base frame price. Powder coating is very durable and is more environmentally friendly. Additional colors start at $80. Liquid paint is glass smooth and super sexy but take a lot more work to lay down and is less durable in the long run. The options, colors, and ideas are endless. Basic liquid starts at $350.

Build Kits

I source parts from Campy, Shimano, Sram and most other small manufactures. From a single speed set up with Paul components to a fully euro road bike, I can build up your bike the way you want it to be. I try to use Chris King headsets, hubs and bottom brackets as often as possible.
Road, cross and touring bike groups range from $1300-$4000 based on parts build and options. This includes everything from wheels, saddle and everything in between. Complete bike assembly with new frame and components: $100 to $150. Often times a complete bike build with racks, fenders and lights takes a day and a half. I build custom wheels using DT Swiss spokes and the choicest parts from Mavic, Velocity laced up to the hub of choice. I charge $50 per wheel labor.
